Unbanked But Undaunted

Samuel Hall + IOM

Kakuma Camp, Kenya - Refugees are some of the world’s most economically vulnerable people in the world.

In Kakuma Refugee Camp in Northern Kenya, many of the 185,000 refugees are unable to work or access traditional banking services because of their displacement making mobile money transfers - sent by family or friends abroad - their only economic lifeline.

However, credible information or education about the ever-evolving digital money ecosystem remains limited.

But experts at Samuel Hall & International Organization for Migration (IOM) are trying to change that.
