Investigation wins New York Press Club award

I’m very proud to be among a small group of reporters and editors who were named winners of The New York Press Club’s award for outstanding investigative reporting.

The award recognizes the Center for Public Integrity’s yearlong investigation into transparency and accountability issues in state government as part of their State Integrity Investigation 2015.

In the last six months, the 50-state analysis has been featured in USA Today, Washington Post, Huffington Post, Mother Jones, Vice and Yahoo News, as well as many local publications including Minnesota Public Radio, Star Tribune, Pioneer Press and Kare 11.

Additionally, there are several bills in the Minnesota House and Senate based directly on recommendations outlined in my report.
